Linda Slattery Sherman

LINDA S SHERMAN has been painting since kindergarten where she did the backside of a bunny rabbit with a cotton tail. On the advice of the kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Slattery gave Linda art lessons starting in third grade continuing and through high school. Linda attended college at Carnegie Mellon University where she earned a BFA in graphic design.

Linda began her design career in 1970, starting her own business in 1977. Recently she semi-retired to pursue her interest in painting. Over the years she has taken a variety of painting classes at Montgomery College (Ed Alstrom) and with private instructors, most notably Skip Lawrence. She is currently taking open studio at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center with Ed Ramsburg.

- Painting II, Montgomery College, focus on the Portrait, oil painting
- Several water media workshops with Skip Lawrence
- Workshop in Taos, NM, with Alex Powers, Christopher Schenck, Fran Larsen, Katherine Liu, Skip Lawrence
- Semester class with Susan Heron, watercolors
- Continuing studies with Calvin Edward Ramsburg at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center
