CHRIS NOEL is a graphic designer by trade but, when he's not designing somethingfor a client, he often can be found in his garage composing abstract graphic paintings out of what ever he can find.
His paintings basicallyarecollections of various items that no longer seem useful (trash). He finds it almost inconceivable how much waste our culture manages to generate.
Chris' paintings are about who we are, right now. They are made from contemporary artifacts. When working on a painting, he often finds himself thinking of creating a relic of past history, and how time has a way of putting its own creative spin on stuff.
His art reflects his belief that much of what we discard in our everyday lives can take on new meaning when we look at it froma different perspective. At the very least, his paintings are an excuse to preserve some very ordinary things of modern society and to recycle some junk that would otherwise end up in a landfill or get incinerated into Earth’s atmosphere.
Chris finds theprocess of transforming undesirable items into desirable ones very exciting (turning trash into treasure). He likes the idea that art can come from almost anything.
Even garbage.
