JOANNA MORRISON received her fine arts training at the School of Visual Arts in New York. She does commissions in an interpretive style, including: family portraits; a three-piece set on the subject of diversity; a divider screen featuring the subject’s love of gardening.
Joanna painted the mural “Love Enfolds” for Unity Church in Frederick. Other projects include a series inspired by the nearby Antietam Battlefield; a series about outdoor recreation; a series on the subject of the working roles of men and women. She also makes wood sculptures, reliefs and constructions.
Morrison’s paintings have been published as the covers of two books and a catalog. She has a background in graphic design, and works as an independent contractor for the National Park Service. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia.
